After the success of the last two years, the EurOMA Board is launching the third edition of the EurOMA Mentorship Program. The initiative is for any EurOMA member who would like support with their career development and for EurOMA members who are willing to provide this support to someone else (they are not mutually exclusive, you can be both a mentor and a mentee).
Available Mentors must be willing to:
• Provide approximately 5 hours per year to one Mentee, at the EurOMA Annual conference or any other EurOMA event first and then online (ideally, one meeting per quarter)
• Provide advice on career development not on research topics
• Facilitate personal and professional growth of the Mentee
Requirements to become a Mentor:
• Be an active EurOMA Member
• Have some academic seniority (at least Assistant Professor/Lecturer)
• Ideally, participate in the EurOMA Annual Conference 2025 in Milan or other EurOMA event (if the first meeting happens face to face it will be easier to “break the ice”), but not mandatory (you can mentor remotely)
Requirements to become a Mentee:
• Be an active EurOMA Member
• Having finished the PhD or being in the last year (but there is no upper limit in terms of seniority)
• Ideally, participate in the EurOMA Annual Conference 2025 in Milan or other EurOMA event (if the first meeting happens face to face it will be easier to “break the ice”), but not mandatory (you can be mentored remotely)
All the Mentees and Mentors will also receive a certificate to prove their participation to the Programme.
The deadline for applications to become a Mentor or a Mentee is 19th of May.
What’s new for this year? We will run an online event prior to the Annual Conference to onboard Mentors and Mentees and periodic online updates with all the participants!
